Stop Smoking Hypnotherapy - Quit Now For Life
Have you tried to quit smoking countless
times? Do you feel powerless to stop? Are you addicted ? perhaps you have already quit but feel like you need more support?
Would
you like to break free from cigarettes or vaping and live a healthier life?
However long you have been smoking for and no matter how
many cigarettes you currently smoke, I can help you ditch your smoking habit for good.
Scientific research shows that
hypnotherapy is the most effective
way to end your habit quickly, safely and for good.
Quit 4 Life is the national hypnotherapy quit smoking
support service in aid of the UK government's quit smoking initiative and
Cancer Research UK.
As a professionally qualified clinical hypnotherapist and licensed
Quit 4 Life practitioner, I am trained
to help you quit smoking safely and effectively using a powerful blend
of evidence-based and scientifically proven techniques. These include Clinical Hypnotherapy,
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and solution focused approaches.
Hypnotherapy has been approved for use by the UK
Government and, selectively, by the National Institute for Health and Clinical
Excellence (NICE). CBT is also an independently researched and proven
therapy, similarly approved by NICE.
Why hypnotherapy makes it easier to quit
Clinical
hypnotherapy (hypnosis) combined with CBT offers a powerful support mechanism to
assist those deciding to quit smoking.
Whilst it is true that there’s nothing
that’s guaranteed to make someone quit smoking, having this therapy can make
that vital difference in helping you to believe that you can succeed and
in gaining the confidence to do so.
The Quit 4
Life programme can help you to continue living your life normally, as a
naturally healthier non-smoker helping you to avoid any side effects of
quitting such as weight gain or cravings.
The key to
successful change is nearly always at a sub-conscious level. You may
recognise the idea of the little voice in your head that can either be very
supportive or very negative. You may also notice how much of your smoking habit is done on auto-pilot without consciously thinking too much about it. This automatic response can sabotage change if you are relying on willpower alone to make that change. “Taming” this inner voice and changing the auto-pilot behaviours that form the smoking habit is part of the
solution.
CBT teaches us that our thoughts affect our feelings and behaviours. By changing our thoughts we can change the way we feel, such as
feeling good about being a non-smoker and about our behaviours, such as
quitting.
Professional, tailored support for YOU
As every smoking habit is unique to each individual, I take a customised approach with every client. This enables me to focus on addressing the specific nature of your particular smoking habit in order to meet your desired outcomes. As part of this, it is important to identify the underlying reasons as to why you smoke and the benefits you experience from smoking. These key drivers behind your habit can cause you to struggle to stop smoking or to even want to stop if you were to try to quit smoking using sheer willpower alone. Using hypnotherapy and CBT I will help you to find effective ways to deal with and overcome these drivers at the sub-conscious level with the aim of increasing your resilience to remain a non-smoker in the longer-term. You can find out more about the structure of your smoking cessation session with me below.
But first, allow me explain just how effective hypnotherapy is to help you stop smoking compared to other methods that are available to you:
Does hypnotherapy really work?
Hypnosis
for stopping smoking is scientifically proven to be much more effective than any
other therapy and is 100% safe.
In 1992 New Scientist Magazine published the outcomes of an extensive clinical study
on the most effective methods of quitting smoking:
A meta-analysis,
statistically combining the results of more than 600 studies (over 72,000
individual cases) showed that hypnotherapy increased a smoker’s success
chances from 6%, using willpower alone to 60%. Furthermore, Hypnotherapy was shown to have by far the greatest success rates of all methods tested.
These are
the research based success rates from the above study for different smoking
cessation methods:
60% – Single session
Hypnosis
24% –
Acupuncture
10% –
Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT)
6% – Willpower alone
Of course, you have to want to stop smoking for hypnotherapy to succeed- as with any habit, no-one can help you to stop if you actually don't want to. But if you really do want to stop and you are determined to make a success of quitting, I can work with you to help you to overcome your smoking habit, enjoy being a non-smoker and remain a non-smoker in the long-term.
Learn what's involved & what to do next...
What does a quit smoking session involve?
The session will take around 90 minutes in a relaxed, comfortable and professional setting.
As every client’s needs and
circumstances are different, I will
focus on your particular needs to determine how best to work with you.
During the
hypnotherapy time you will be invited to make yourself comfortable and will
be guided into a deeper state where you are more open to positive suggestion
and where effective changes to your thoughts, feelings and behaviours can be
made by you.
What’s
it like to be in hypnosis?
I explain what being in a state of hypnosis is like on the hypnotherapy page of this website so if you would like to find out more, just click here.
In the relaxed, comfortable state of hypnosis, you are likely to be able to take on board ideas at a sub-conscious level that will help
to convince you that you can be successful in becoming a non-smoker and that
you can actually enjoy being a non-smoker – more than you’ve ever enjoyed
being a smoker.
How
many sessions will I need?
You may be surprised to read that often only one session is needed. To help re-enforce the changes from being a smoker to a non-smoker and to increase the probability of you remaining a non-smoker for good, I will provide you with some self-help tools to support you beyond our session together. For example, I will teach you how to take yourself into hypnosis and how to use a specially
recorded CD/MP3 download of your customised Quit 4 Life hypnosis session so that you can continue to listen to it daily at first to help ensure your success.
In addition you will learn methods to overcome any cravings that you may encounter along the way.
On occasion, some clients choose to benefit from a repeat therapy session. Whether you do so, is completely up to you and how you feel.

A Healthier, Wealthier You
What
Happens to my Body when I Stop?
Once you stop smoking your health will start to improve immediately and continue to improve every day!
Here are
some of the health benefits you can look forward to enjoying:
• 20 minutes: Your
blood pressure and pulse will return to normal levels.
• 8 hours: The nicotine
and carbon monoxide levels in your blood will have halved.
• 24 hours:
The carbon monoxide is eliminated from your body and your lungs will resume
their natural cleaning
process, expelling the accumulated tar.
• 48 hours: All nicotine is eliminated from the body. Your senses of taste and
smell will begin
to improve.
• 72 hours: Your breathing becomes easier as the bronchial tubes begin to
relax.
• 2-12 weeks: Your circulation improves, making physical exercise noticeably
easier.
• 3-9 months: Lung function improves by about 10% as coughs and breathing
problems disappear.
Your Pocket Gains too
Smoking cigarettes not only costs you health-wise but also financially. It can be tempting to avoid thinking about
how much you are sacrificing financially on your smoking habit.
The average cost of a 20-pack of cigarettes
is £8.00. During
their lifetime, an average smoker, on twenty cigarettes a day will spend almost
one hundred thousand pounds (£100,000) on their habit. That’s £1700
per year! That’s a lot of cash to burn, equivalent to a second mortgage but with no bricks & mortar to own in return and no end to the payments....
Just consider now, if someone gifted you £1700 right now and
every year from now on, what would you spend it on?
Yet, for a comparatively small investment of money and time (just £160
for one 90-minute quit smoking session) this financial gift can become a
reality for you every single year as a non-smoker.
You're probably getting a clear picture of just how your life would change as a non-smoker
–healthier, wealthier just as a result of living your life free from cigarettes ...
